A writer’s search history…

you-gotta-believe-me2.jpg

Hello! There’s a longstanding joke about an author’s internet search history. Things come up in writing that we don’t always know or aren’t sure how to describe.

I’ve searched for anything from a simple (or not so simple) grammar question to the best way to decapitate someone (that was not my favorite research day 😝). So, if anyone stumbles upon my search history without knowing I’m a writer, they may have serious concerns. 😬

I’ve been researching knives again. My characters kill the baddies by stabbing them through the heart, so I’m sure you can imagine my history is getting pretty interesting.. 🔪😉

If you’ve read my book, Becoming Banshee, you know my MC Kadi loves her knives and never leaves home without them. In Becoming Banshee, she uses throwing knives (darts), karambits (like the one in the picture), and of course, her trusty Finnish-style puukko knives.

Something happens in Book 2 causing her to need some new knives. So, I’ve been reading up on a few different options. I think I’ve finally settled on my favorite and the one that will work best for her. 😁⚔

Progress on Book 2 is coming along nicely. In this second book in the Fire Banshee Series, we learn more about the Fey, their lands (Sidhe), and their some of their tradition. I can’t wait to share more with you as I go!

Kimberly Quay

Kimberly Quay has loved romance & fantasy as far back as she can remember. Her childhood home was full of fantasy, romance, and thriller books and movies. Born and raised in Florida, she spent most of her youth outside searching for fairies and hoping to meet (and fall in love with) a vampire.

Author of (spicy) contemporary romance, (steamy) paranormal shifter romance, and (thrilling) urban fantasy, she’s a sucker for a good rom-com and she’s fascinated by old graveyards. When she’s not working on her next novel, she’s reading or kicking her husband’s butt in darts.

Kimberly still loves reading. Especially Nora Roberts and Kim Harrison.
