My Writing Process… ARC Readers.

Hello! I get a lot of questions about writing and how I do it, so I thought I'd share my process. Put down the pen and paper, grab a cup of coffee and settle in for the wild ride of the writing process!

ARC Readers: They're like spies, sneakily getting a hold of a book before anyone else and leaving their thoughts for the world to see. Okay, so it’s not sneaky, but they do get to read the books before anyone else in order to leave reviews before anyone else. This gets the ball rolling before or on release day!

ARC means Advanced Reader Copy. An ARC reader reads a free copy of the book prior to publication. There are sites like BookSprout where readers and authors come together for the process. ARC readers are another integral part of the process. Authors need reviews to get readers, but we also need readers to get reviews and ARC readers get that process started!

ARC readers are like the superheroes of the literary world, getting a sneak peek at the latest books before anyone else and helping authors live their dream!

One more left! Publishing is next week! YAY! Until then, Happy Reading!

Kimberly Quay

Kimberly Quay has loved romance & fantasy as far back as she can remember. Her childhood home was full of fantasy, romance, and thriller books and movies. Born and raised in Florida, she spent most of her youth outside searching for fairies and hoping to meet (and fall in love with) a vampire.

Author of (spicy) contemporary romance, (steamy) paranormal shifter romance, and (thrilling) urban fantasy, she’s a sucker for a good rom-com and she’s fascinated by old graveyards. When she’s not working on her next novel, she’s reading or kicking her husband’s butt in darts.

Kimberly still loves reading. Especially Nora Roberts and Kim Harrison.
